This is only to be undertaken in the setting of palliation
VAD Controller/Pump
Cessation of Therapy
Controller will alarm during this process – unavoidable.
Place patients controller onto Battery power
(Not monitor or AC power)
Remove First Power Cable
Remove Driveline
Remove Second Power Cable
Press and hold the Battery button on Controller
Controller will shut down after 5 seconds of holding the button
Ensure Heartmate Console is plugged into power in the Dirty Respiratory Room once it is removed from the cubicle.

3. Remove Drive Line
4. Remove Second Power Cable
5. Press and hold the Battery button on Controller
6. Controller will shut down after 5 seconds of holding button.
Ensure Heartmate Console is plugged into power in the Dirty Respiratory Room once it is removed from the cubicle.
